Impact Cashless Payment System now operating in 800 schools
A milestone was
reached this month when Impact was adopted by its 800th school.
Since its launch in 1993 the Impact system’s
growth rate has continued to sweet upwards, reflecting the increasing
awareness of, and demand for, an effective, reliable and versatile
solution to cashless catering.
Interest in
alleviating free school meal stigma drove early adopters, but the allure
of the system was soon enhanced by the realisation that the management
benefits, cost savings and increased sales made cashless catering a
commercial proposition as well as one of social inclusion.
More recently the interest in healthy eating and, therefore, the
desire to monitor consumption patterns and promote a healthy diet, have
sustained and grown demand even further.
CRB are
delighted that more and more schools are benefiting from their
investment in developing Impact. They recently introduced a Biometric
system to alleviate the issues sometimes associated with card
management, and the early indications for its take up are very
strong.
With all of the above factors accompanied by
the Building Schools for the Future and PFI projects, along with the
investment they bring into the area, there is a strong future for
cashless catering in schools.
